Bourbon Autumn Pear Cocktail Recipe
I love the combination of Bourbon and pear. Most fall Bourbon drinks combine apple or pumpkin with the Bourbon, and that’s a great combo, but sometimes you want something different. This bourbon autumn pear cocktail is just that. It’s not too sweet, has lots of pear flavor, and is perfect for a fall evening.
What You Need For This Pear Autumn Bourbon Cocktail Recipe
To make this cocktail, you only need a few ingredients. The most unique ingredient is the Pear Hard Cider, a low-alcohol fruit cider. Hard ciders are becoming easier to find, but the pear is still less available than an apple hard cider. I found mine at a local Pittsburgh cider house called Threadbare. But several national brands make pear cider, like Angry Orchard. You will also need Bourbon, bitters, and a clove simple syrup. To make the simple syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar, throw in about a tablespoon of whole cloves, and heat on the stovetop until the sugar has dissolved.
Step-By-Step How To
- Step 1: To make the clove simple syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar, throw in about a tablespoon of whole cloves, and heat on the stovetop until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.
- Step 2: Combine the Bourbon, simple syrup, bitters, and pear hard cider in a glass and stir to combine.
- Step 3: Pour over ice and garnish.
Tips For Success
Tip 1 — Don’t use a cocktail shaker; the hard cider is carbonated, so you won’t want to shake.
