Barreling South Bourbon Ginger Beer Cocktail Recipe

You Need For This Recipe

The key to making this cocktail is to use the 1pt Barrel Blend infusion. This blend adds an infusion of notes of wood and leather with subtle hints of island spices to the Bourbon. In addition to the Bourbon, find a good quality ginger beer (not ginger ale; they are not the same thing). Round it out with a hint of lime.

Step-By-Step How To

  • Step 1: Make your infused bourbon by adding one packet of 1pt Barrel Blend to 375ml of Bourbon. Let steep for 2-3 hours and then strain and store.
  • Step 2: In a glass, combine 2 oz of Bourbon with 1/4 oz of fresh lime juice and 4 oz of ginger beer; stir gently to combine.
  • Step 3: Add ice and garnish.

Tips For Success

Tip 1 — Try the 1pt. Infusion, but if you don’t have it, you can make this drink by using regular Bourbon.

Tip 2 — If you want to tone down the ginger, add only 3 oz of ginger beer. But make sure you are using ginger beer and NOT ginger ale.
